Repair cost

Calculating repair costs after an accident or damage: parts, labor, materials, painting, standard labor hours, hidden damage and repair procedures.

A repair calculation determines the necessary repair operations and their cost for a specific vehicle and damage. The parts list, procedures and source prices must be verifiable.

Subject of examination

  • Damaged vehicle and its equipment
  • Nature, extent and documentation of damage
  • Repair procedures, labor, parts and materials

Sample questions for the expert

  • Which repair operations are necessary for the confirmed damage?
  • Which parts require repair or replacement, and on what basis?
  • Are the inspection and materials sufficient to account for hidden damage?
  • What is the repair cost as of the agreed date using the applicable calculation method?

The final questions are formulated according to the objects and circumstances of the particular task.

What to prepare

  • Vehicle documents and identification details
  • Inspection records, detailed photos and estimates
  • Repair documents and information about previous damage
  • Calculation date, examination purpose and questions

How the examination is conducted

Damage, repair procedures and calculation items are compared. The calculation method is selected for the task and applicable requirements; price sources and assumptions are stated in the document.

Scope and limitations

Repair cost does not establish speed, accident mechanics or the technical possibility of avoiding the accident. Unconfirmed hidden damage is not added arbitrarily; further inspection may be needed to check it.

What the deliverable records

The result contains a substantiated list of repair operations, a cost calculation and limitations arising from the available vehicle information.

Cost and terms

from 30 000 ₽. The exact fee depends on vehicle type, extent of damage, need for inspection, number of questions and urgency.

From part damage to an estimate line

A verifiable calculation links each repair item to confirmed damage and the specified restoration method. For each part, state the indicators recorded, why repair or replacement was selected and which related operations are necessary. A part's presence in an estimate does not itself explain the basis for its inclusion.

Damage relating to the incident considered is distinguished from earlier signs of use and repair. If photographs cannot establish the condition of a concealed assembly, record this as a limitation and identify the additional information needed. Adding suspected hidden damage without substantiation makes the calculation unverifiable.

  • Linking the item to the inspection record and photographs.
  • Identification of the part, variant and applicable repair procedures.
  • Separation of spare parts, labor and materials.
  • Source prices, date and conditions of use.
  • Labor requirements for operations and possible double counting of shared work.

When comparing two estimates, break down differences by cause: different damage lists, repair instead of replacement, a different price source, different labor requirements or an arithmetic error. The difference between totals alone cannot determine which calculation is substantiated.

The calculation's purpose and conditions are recorded in advance. Insurance calculation expenses and market restoration costs may follow different underlying rules. The technical document must show which task was resolved; the amount of compensation recoverable is determined separately under the established procedure.

Consultation

Send vehicle documents and photos

Describe the task and attach damage photos, the vehicle passport/registration certificate (PTS/STS), accident documents, inspection record, insurer's estimate, repair order, court order or another expert's report.

  • vehicle value;
  • repair cost;
  • accident damage, diminished value and salvage value;
  • review of another expert's report.

How data is processed: Personal Data Processing Policy. Provide only the necessary photographs and documents, redacting other people's unnecessary information.

Up to 10 files of 10 MB each, with a total limit of 15 MB. Attach damage photos and available vehicle documents; arrange transfer of larger materials separately.

Attachments: up to 10 files of up to 10 MB each, with a maximum combined size of 15 MB. If a file is rejected, the enquiry is not sent.
