Diminished value and salvage value: when they are needed

Loss of value after repairs and usable salvage when restoration is economically impractical.

Diminished value reflects the reduction in a vehicle's market value after damage and repairs. Salvage value is calculated when restoration is economically impractical or the vehicle is considered a constructive total loss.
